Kimberly Farley, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a Doctoral prepared board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Dr. Farley earned her undergraduate degree at Virginia State University. She pursued her passion to be of service which led her to become a registered nurse. She earned a masters degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Dr. Farley completed her doctoral degree at Old Dominion University graduating with honors. She brings over 10 years of psychiatric nursing experience. Her practice approach is to provide patients with a holistic healthcare experience.
With compassion and care, her goals include acceptance and healing while decreasing the stigma associated with mental illness. Within the specialty of psychiatry, Dr. Farley is an experienced practitioner providing care for various mental health conditions.
My life mission is to provide mental health care to individuals in environments where they feel safe and comfortable to illicit the most effective and beneficial healthy results to alleviate isolation, foster independence and develop skill sets to enhance a higher quality of life through early recognition of symptoms, preventative health education, counseling, individualized/family therapy and medication management.
Offering services to attain life goals, preventative measures or life skill for specific events, clients will become confident in their ability to maneuver the complexities of life. A holistic approach to achieve inner peace and stillness through meditation, active meditation, deep breathing, mindfulness and expressive therapy based in the recovery model will be used in conjunction with traditional therapy modalities.
